Calgary Honky-Tonker, country poet & singer.

It's been a long winding road for singer songwriter Tom Phillips.

Thirty or so years of music making, seven albums, hundreds of live shows a year,  the starring role in a fourteen day sold out stage play of "Hank Williams the Show He Never Gave", three children, three yet to be published novels, the soundtrack to the novel Spanish Fly by Will Ferguson, hundreds of songs and a seven piece band. Tom is not a man to sit idle.

His hard crafted songs, melodic voice, wit and infectious smile continue to draw droves of loyal fans to support his music wherever he plays.

The Men of Constant Sorrow, Toms band of twenty some years, includes Dwight Thompson on guitar, Tim Leacock on bass, Charlie Veilleux  pedal steel guitar, Gary Gelhorn drums and Dave Hoffart on mandolin. They are often backed by fantastic female vocalists, fiddle players and the occasional squeeze box.

A  mainstay on the Calgary music scene and no stranger to stages far and away, Tom is a singer, songwriter, vocalist and performer not to be missed.

When not playing on a stage or writing a song, Tom can be found in the kitchen making bread and baking pies.

When the barflies and the intelligentsia are equally hooked by what’s on your mind and what fuels your soul, you know you are a man in demand. Singer-songwriter Tom Phillips is such a man
